  • Q: How much does it cost to register?
  • A: Registration is free for the standard account. (See Account Types)
  • Q: What is the maximum dimension of a file that can be sent?
  • A: For the Standard (free) Account, the maximum dimension of a file that can be sent is 30 MB.  For the Pro Account, the maximum size of each file is 100 MB.  With our Personalized Account, the maximum size of a file can be up to 2 GB.
  • Q: How many days is a file available for download?
  • A file will automatically be cancelled after 10 days if it has not been downloaded by your recipient.
  • Q: Can I send the same file to more than one e-mail address?
  • A:  Yes, you can send the same file to more than one address.  With the standard (free) account, you can send the same file up to 10 different e-mail addresses.  There are three different ways to send a file to multiple addresses; 1) inserting a comma and a space between e-mail addresses, 2) inserting a comma without a space between addresses, or 3) inserting a ‘;’ without a space between addresses.
  • Q:  How do I know if I successfully uploaded my file?
  • A:  After each successful upload, you will simultaneously receive a website confirmation and a notification e-mail from File747.com of the uploaded file.
  • Q:  How do I know if my recipient downloaded my file?
  • A:  As soon as your recipient has downloaded your file, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from File747.com.
  • QSince I requested a Pro Account, is it possible to give my username and password to my clients in order that they are able to send me files larger than 30MB?
  • A:  It is not possible, nor is it advisable, to give other persons your username and password information for reasons of privacy and security.  Allow us to stress that with a Pro Account, your clients, even if they have registered with a Standard (Free) Account, can also send you files of up to 100 MB each to the e-mail address that you registered when you signed up with the Pro Account.
  • Q: Why does it take so long to upload a large file?
  • A:  Besides the size of the file, the amount of time to upload a file is determined by the type of internet connection that our client has.  Most providers give a good speed to download information as opposed to uploading.  One consolation is that your recipient will certainly be able to download your file much faster.
  • Q: Doesn’t e-mailing large files clutter up the recipients mailbox?
  • A: No, not when you use File747.com. Instead of the actual files, the recipient receives a download link to the attachments you are e-mailing. The attachments are temporarily stored at one of our servers. After reading your e-mail with the enclosed download link, the recipient can decide if he or she wants to download the files.
  • Q: How do I cancel my free account?
  • A: Free accounts will be removed after they have been inactive for some time. There's no need to take any specific action
  • Q: Can I use File747.com to send a folder or directory of files? .
  • A:You can use an archiving program to compress a folder and all the files the folder contains into a single archive file before sending. Examples of archiving programs include WinZip® and WinRar for Windows computers, and Stuffit® for Macs. Please note that File747.com is not affiliated in any way with the publishers of the above software packages
